Born in Cleveland, Ohio, USA in 1963

I studied art history at the College of Wooster, Ohio and at The Graduate Center, City University of New York, where I received my Bachelor of Arts and Master of Philosophy degrees respectively. Building upon my doctoral studies, also at CUNY, I came to Germany in 1992 on a DAAD research fellowship, where I was affiliated with the Freie Universität, Berlin.

As a result of my diverse professional experiences as an art historian, I have chosen to focus my translation work within the arts and cultural sector. Over the past decade I have done translations for numerous museums and other cultural institutions (References). Additional projects also took place in other fields, for example in the social sciences, music, real estate and multimedia (resulting from my continuing education program at Cimdata.de – Akademie für Digitale Medien, Berlin).

As an art historian, I have worked with curatorial teams at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Museum of Modern Art in New York (Henri Matisse retrospective), the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin (George Grosz retrospective) as well as upon exhibitions at the Martin-Gropius-Bau in Berlin ("Afrika;" "Die Epoche der Moderne – Kunst im 20. Jahrhundert") and at other cultural institutions.
